Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a politician of India. He was served as first deputy prime minister of India. He was a successful Barrister, a senior leader of Indian National Congress and a freedom fighter. He also served as minister of Home affairs , minister of information and states minister. He is popularly known as Iron man of India. He is also known as unifier of India. For his important contribution in Bardoli campaign he earned the title Sardar

Birth

Vallabhbhai Patel was born on 31 October, 1875 in Nadiad, Bombay presidency, British India. (In present day Gujarat, India.) He was second child of Jhaverbhai Patel and Ladba Patel. There was five siblings of Sardar Patel their names are Dahibhai, Kashibhai, Somabhai, Narshibhai, Vithalbhai Patel.

Death

Sardar Patel was died on 15 December, 1950, in Bombay, India. (In present day Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) Reason of his death was heart attack.

Education

Sardar Patel was a barrister. He studied in a primary school of Karamkasad. He passed his High school from Petlad. He completed his  matric when he was 22 years old. After this he passed district pleader's examination and started practicing law. In August, 1910; he journeyed to London and started studying in middle Temple. He studied law in middle Temple and passed in last year with High honour.

Achievements

Sardar Patel given a very important role in freedom of India. Also he was a very good barisster, politician. His achievements are:

  1. In year 1917, he became sanitation commisioner of Ahmadabad. 
  2. Successful organization of Kheda satyagraha of year 1918: The kheda satyagraha was a  well organised, disciplined revolt that successfully mobilized and United all the castes of the kheda region.
  3. He gave a very big contribution to non-cooperation movement of year 1920-1922.
  4. He led Bardoli satyagraha of 1928 successfully: After the success of Bardoli campaign the women's of Bardoli gave a title 'Sardar' to Vallabhbhai Patel, which refers to chief or leader.
  5. He became the president of Indian National Congress in year 1931
  6. He made a base for disobedience movement in year 1942: Sardar Patel travelled whole around the country for asking all the people for refuse to pay tex and to participate in the movement.
  7. He gave his contribution in integration of princely states in India: at the time of India's independence there was 565 princely states they was ordered that they can live in India either elsewhere. Sardar Patel started to talk with the kings of the precisely states to persuaded in India. He made his mission. After this 562 precisely states make the decision to accede in India.
  8. Sardar Patel was first deputy prime minister of India.
  9. He was first home minister of India.
  10. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in India is regarded as father of civil services: giving all india civil services was Sardar Patel's vision. He realised that civil services not only maintain law and order in country, civil services gave a binding power to nation also.

Awards

Sardar Patel was awarded by Bharat Ratan in year 1991 after his death. He became inspiration for youth of India.

Family

Jhaverbhai Patel (Father) and Ladba ( mother) was parents of patel. He married with Jhaverba Patel in year 1983 and he died in year 1909. Maniben patel was doughter and Dahyabhai Patel was son of sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
