Niel Armstrong

Niel Armstrong was an American astronaut. He was an astronomer of American space research organization NASA and he is very well known as  the first man to walk on the moon. Niels Armstrong was also an aeronautical engineer, university professor, test pilot and a neval aviator. Armstrong walked on moon on 20 July 1969, when he was on mission Apollo 11.

Birth

Niel Armstrong was born on 5 August 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio in United States. His full name is Niel Alden Armstrong.

Death

Niel Armstrong was died on 25 August 2012 when he was 82 years old . He died in Cincinnati, Ohio United States.

Education

Niel Armstrong studied in Blume High School Historical Place in 1947. He finished got his bachelor degree of aeronautical engineering in year 1955 from Purdue University. He completed his master's degree of aeronautical engineering in year 1970 from University of Southern California.

Achievements

In his starting career, Niel Armstrong worked in U.S. navy in 1949 as a neval aviator. When he completed his bachelor degree Armstrong became a test pilot in National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, High speed flight station in Edwards Air Force Base, California. Armstrong joined NASA astronaut corps in 1962 in which he was selected In second group. He made his first space flight  by Gemini 8 as a command pilot on  March 1966. On 20 July 1969, Niel Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon.

Viola Armstrong  was mother and  Stephen Armstrong was father of Armstrong. He married with Janet Shearon in 1956 and gave her divorce in 1994. After this he married with Carol knight in 1994. Karen Armstrong, mark Armstrong and Eric Armstrong are the children of Niel Armstrong.
